Privacy
The short version: your beliefs are private unless you publish them, and you can take everything with you.
What we store
- Your email address, used only to log you in.
- Your display name, username and bio.
- Your beliefs and their full revision history.
- Responses you leave on other people's public beliefs.
- A hashed password. We never store the password itself and cannot recover it.
What's visible to others
Only beliefs you explicitly mark public, and only while they stay public. Your display name, username and bio are visible on your profile unless you turn the profile off in settings. Private beliefs are never shown to anyone, in any view, including comparisons.
Your beliefs are never sold, and never handed to anyone who asks
What you write here is not a product. It is never sold, rented, licensed or traded — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to researchers, not to anyone, at any price. There is no business model here that involves your data, which is the only reason a promise like this is worth anything: there is nothing to give up by keeping it.
It is never shared either. No third-party analytics, no advertising networks, no tracking pixels, no embedded widgets — the site loads nothing from anywhere else, so no one but us sees that you were even here. Your beliefs are never used to train a model, ours or anyone else's. Nothing is disclosed to an employer, a platform, a journalist, a family member or a stranger who writes in and asks, however confidently they ask. Your private beliefs are not on display to us either: no screen in the admin area shows them, and the moderation tools refuse to act on anything that has not been published.
The one limit, stated plainly rather than buried: we are bound by law like anyone else. A valid court order from a competent authority is not something we can promise to ignore, and any site telling you otherwise is either lying or has not thought about it. What we can promise is everything on our side of that line — nothing is handed over voluntarily, we will not treat a request as valid just because it arrives on a letterhead, and where the law permits us to tell you, we will.
The protection that does not depend on any of this is simpler: what is not here cannot be handed to anyone. Delete a belief and its whole history goes with it. Delete your account and everything goes. Export first if you want to keep it — the export is complete, and it is yours.
What we don't do
- No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. The site loads no external resources at all.
- No selling or sharing of your data, ever, at any price.
- No training a model on what you write.
- No marketing email. We only email you if you ask us something.
Cookies
Two, both strictly functional: one keeps you logged in, one protects forms against cross-site request forgery. No advertising or analytics cookies.
Getting your data out, or deleting it
Export everything as JSON from settings whenever you like. Deleting your account removes your beliefs, revisions, responses and sessions from the database.
